Gap of Dunloe
The Gap is narrow scenic mountain road between the Purple Mountains and the MacGuillcuddy Reeks Mountains. The road through the Gap of Dunloe is very narrow so the Horse and Cart is very popular among tourists as it is a 7k walk. Daily Tours are available most of the year with such companies as O'Connors & Dero's Tours offering guests a guided bus tour and a boat ride to and from the Gap. To get to the Boat you have a choice of walking, take a Pony & Trap (image above) at an extra charge. Alternitavey for the very active you can Book the Boat only & rent bikes in Killarney cycle and put the bikes on the boat. We would recomend this if you like cycling and the outdoors.
